Well, I’ve been at getting this plugin to work for the last few days.

I use Hostgator as the hosting provider for the site that doesn’t work – https://www.geekandjock.com as well as 2 other sites that run under the same account and they are working with Super Cache.

I’ve got all of them to use the Easy method of PHP and the one that’s giving me trouble is the common ‘ob_start or redirection’ error message, such as below:

04:36:28 /blogs/thegeek/what-is-love mobile browser detected: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 6_0 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/536.26 (KHTML, like Gecko) Mobile/10A403
    04:36:28 /blogs/thegeek/what-is-love supercache dir: /home/rastarr/public_html/gajwp/wp-content/cache/supercache/www.geekandjock.com/blogs/thegeek/what-is-love/
04:36:28 /blogs/thegeek/what-is-love No wp-cache file exists. Must generate a new one.

    04:36:29 /blogs/thegeek/what-is-love Output buffer callback
04:36:29 /blogs/thegeek/what-is-love Buffer is blank. Output buffer may have been corrupted by another plugin or this is a redirected URL. Look for text 'ob_start' in the files of your plugins directory.
04:36:29 /blogs/thegeek/what-is-love No closing html tag. Not caching.
    04:36:29 /blogs/thegeek/what-is-love wp_cache_shutdown_callback: collecting meta data.
    04:36:29 /blogs/thegeek/what-is-love Sending 'Content-Type: text/html; charset="UTF-8"' header.
    04:36:29 /blogs/thegeek/what-is-love Did not write meta file: wp-cache-19ad3a58c6e1648039d03f389725878f.meta ** *0* **

Well, I basically disabled every plugin except Super Cache and still got Timestamping errors when doing the Test.

So my guess is it might have been the theme. I’ve got the same theme running on a local XAMPP instance as well as installing the same theme on one of the other Hostgator sites and switching it over. The theme works with Super Cache.

So …. I’ve run out of ideas. Plugins all seem to be fine as does the theme.

Is there anyone else that can suggest how I log the flow of SuperCache as to why it doesn’t cache or work? I’m going crazy to fathom the issue.

Any help would be hugely appreciated

Well, even though I’m now bald from hair pulling, I soldiered on to look for anomolies.

I discovered a fix.php file that wasn’t in my local install – maybe some security thing I was trying out previously. Anyway, this had an ob_start in it.

I basically reinstalled 3.4.2, deleted this weird fix.php file and viola, Super Cache kicked in. Goodness, I had a big smile.

Phew, glad you got that sorted!

haha you and me both, Donncha ??
No idea where the extraneous file came from but I’m sure it was due to some past ‘fiddling around’ on my part too.
Kudos for such a great plugin too, mate.
