• I need to change the directory of cached files from /wp-content/cache
    to another.

It’s important on dreamhost, because the home directory is on NFS and it’s very slow, and I need to put it on /tmp dir.

If I make a symlink wp-cache works well, but it seems wp-super-cache not (files are filled with wp-cache comment and not super cache one).

    Thanks in advance, best regards

  • Apache will not serve files from outside the document root (which the tmp directory certainly is) without additional conf or .htaccess directives which, unless they are certifiably insane, Dreamhost will not allow you to change.

Short version – It’ll never work unless Dreamhost’s server config is very wrong.
