    Yeah, this is a popular issue it seems, especially with these kind of themes. The authors should start working on it ??

    I can’t really tell my just looking at the website. Can you tell me what kind of “Image Sizes” do you have? You can see them in your Retina Settings (Basics). Then we can see if one of them is used for those thumbnails. If there isn’t any, the theme is doing something wrong and should really create an image size USING the WordPress API… and in that case you’d have to contact the author of this theme.
