[Plugin: WP-reCAPTCHA] Anyone else getting a lot more spam over the last couple of weeks?

Definitely agree with you. It’s the like the plugin is not doing anything to counter it.

yeah… I got 253 spam comment posts on one of our sites over past couple of days.. thank god for akismet! 54 on another, 25 on one more. I’m starting to think this doesn’t really help for those who really want to comment spam, as they have a workaround.

We turned off commenting entirely on the one site for now as there is no protection from folks posting comment spam with this plugin right now. 500+ spam comments since Friday — not trackbacks or pings (we keep that crap OFF).

Sucks. Really need something more robust!

Oh, to clarify. This is catching the spam to the spam queue; but not actually blocking people posting spam comments. So, to clarify between this and akismet, stuff does go into the spam queue properly and doesn’t go to moderation… just not stopping bad posters as they are obviously filling out the captcha to spam over and over on specific stories on our sites. Sigh.
