[Plugin: WP-Password Generator] Use this plugin to add password generator to existing user

WP Password Generator references the password fields and strength meter by ID so modifications would need to be made if you were using it to create other sorts of random strings.

With a few modifications (and the addition of custom profile fields; see https://wpengineer.com/2173/custom-fields-wordpress-user-profile/ for code samples) it should be a good starting point to build your own custom plugin.
