[Plugin: WP-Paginate] Empty text after body tag

Hi there!
As soon as I activated the plugin, a multiline empty text (with starting and closing double quotes) appears just under the <body> tag, which causes an unwanted margin at the top of the page. The same goes for admin panel, except that the space is added after the visual bar (empty text is still after the body tag).
When I deactivate the plugin, it goes back to normal (no empty text, no margin)
Any ideas???
