• Thank you for your excellent and useful idea.

In order to get a performance boost, I keep my uploads directory in another location. The path and URL are specified on the options-misc.php page. It would be ideal if WP-MalWatch could use that information in order to find the uploads folder. As it is, the plugin sees that the uploads directory is not in its default location and just provides that error message.

Alternatively, could you please tell us how to modify the plugin code itself to hard-code in a different location for the uploads directory?

  • Peter,

I totally agree with you and we will get this out in the next release. We had to deal with the fact that subdomained installs were using the long path names which caused all kinds of issues. This was more of a quick fix.

We are circling back on a few things to get another release out and we’ll come up with a more flexible solution.

thanks for the insight on what you are doing with your wordpress blog.

options-misc.php is gone and wp-content/uploads is not the default location for multi-site, so a fix would be welcome ??
