    have a look in wp-content/plugins/wp-lightbox-2/styles/images, there you can find the images (closelabel.gif, prevlabel.gif, nextlabel.gif).

    making a folder called fr_FR and putting the new images into DOES NOT work, unfortunately. just tried that with de_DE.

    ok, it works like this:

    go to /wp-content/plugins/wp-lightbox-2/styles/, copy e.g. lightbox.min.cs_CZ.css to lightbox.min.fr_FR.css, edit this file and do a search & replace for “cs_CZ” -> “fr_FR”. Now you can add the folder fr_FR to /wp-content/plugins/wp-lightbox-2/styles/images/ and copy the localized images to it, voilà!
