[Plugin: WP Event Ticketing] Ability to pre-order in groups and seating

  • Great plugin, I’ve got a couple of suggestions … hopefully for a later release.

    I’d like the ability for people to buy tickets in groups. For instance, if you have a supporters group an email could be sent out to all those on that list and they could purchase their tickets that requires a certain code. But once the sale date hits, anyone could order without needing the code.

    I’d also like the ability to some how add seats to the event, maybe the ability to make a location so it could be associated with an event. But then as the tickets sell those seats would not be available. I’m pretty sure the whole seating thing would be a massive task to add and might be too much for something like this. It would be an awesome addition though.

    I think I know how you could deal with the group pre-order thing with the current version. Create a package called pre-order, but set the availability dates in the past. Set the price for the package as 1% higher than you intend. Then, create a coupon for the package and make it a 1% discount code. Send that code to the folks you want to give the ability to pre-order. When they type in the code, that ticket type will be available to them. Maybe not as elegant as you were hoping, but will do the trick.

    As for attaching tickets to seats, that is not even in our long term plans for the plugin. It gets far too specific. Each venue, heck, each event, would require making a map and then mapping seat numbers and tickets and, and, and… My head just exploded. ??

    Ya the seating thing is monstrous. It’s an amazing plugin as is. Appreciate the quick response.

    How about a way to add coupon codes / discount codes? Right now we can create multiple tickets, but how about a way to enable a place to enter discount/coupon code, when someone purchasing a discount ticket?
