[Plugin: WP Easy Columns] Not enough explanation – Or it just doesn't work

I put the shortcode into the text box on the page. But where am I supposed to write my text? I find no explanation of this. When I view the page it has the column labels but no text is in the columns.
Maybe this is “understood” by seasoned users. Or maybe it just doesn’t work. But I’m still new to WP and there is no way to figure this out alone.
