  • I *think* that the current release should be compatible with WordPress 3.0

That said, the guys are working on a version (3.8) that takes advantage of some of the new features in WordPress 2.9 and 3.0… but there’s no firm ETA for that yet.

The current stable version (3.7.6.5) is NOT comppatibel with WP 3.0 – all you get is the white screen of death when I activate it.

    Hm.

I have a test site running WP3.0 and WPEC 3.7.6.5 and no white-screens here – have you checked your PHP error log to see if there are any other issues?

I will note that the site was upgraded to WP 3.0, rather than installing WPEC 3.7.6.5 onto WP 3.0 – maybe a bug in the installer?

I get the white screen since upgrading if I try to edit a post. I also cannot access the plugin control panel. I have tried several themes and have disabled all other plugins and nothing helps. I have also manually re-uploaded the wp-admin and wp-includes folders. If I go in by ftp and disable wp-ecommerce, the site goes back to normal except without the cart.

    Any ideas?

    @freeeye

Do you have access to your PHP error log – or can you turn on displaying errors?

Seeing what error is being produced and causing the white page will help diagnose the issue.

You also didn’t mention which version of WP e-Commerce you were running

I don’t know how to turn on the php error log. Sorry. I’ll look into that. I am running the latest version 3.7.6.5. All of my other sites (I have about 10 that I “manage”) survived the upgrade fine once I took care of some headspace 2 problems.

I’m having an issue now after the 3.0 update.

After the customers check out, their names and addresses aren’t being logged in the sales records.

    Can anyone help?

ON my settings page goes blank, and if add a product to the shopping cart, it wont show on the checkout page.

    here is my php log:

PHP Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: open(/var/php_sessions/sess_4bf8afb07492984ac2f6533476271105, O_RDWR) failed: No such file or directory (2) in /hermes/web06/b721/as.millerl/public_html/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/wp-e-commerce/merchants/paypal_certified.php on line 788
PHP Warning: Unknown: open(/var/php_sessions/sess_4bf8afb07492984ac2f6533476271105, O_RDWR) failed: No such file or directory (2) in Unknown on line 0
PHP Warning: Unknown: Failed to write session data (files). Please verify that the current setting of session.save_path is correct (/var/php_sessions) in Unknown on line 0

Your PHP is mis-configured. It’s trying to save session information to a path (/var/php_sessions) that doesn’t exist. As the error message says – correct the value of session.save_path to point to a folder that the webserver can write to.

    I install WP 3.0

after that upload WP e-Commerce and go Administration activate it.

It show out error as below

    Good Morn Folks,

I’ve been trying to figure out which is the best e-comm solution for a small business. My customer is only selling one or two products at the most. So it needs to be simple yet reliable. Any suggestions…..?

Hi Stylez, what payment gateway do you plan to use, is this a physical product or digital download… these factors are important in deciding on an e-commerce solution; I’ve go for WP e-Commerce.

WP-e-Commerce work is working fine for me with 3.0.1 as you can see at https://rhettandlink.com/blog/music/

It was designed and tested in 2.9 and rolled out in 3.0 and survived the update to 3.0.1.

Stylez: GetShopped should be a good solution for the store you’ve described. I’ve used it for stores that are going to be around forever and stores that need to sell 222 items within 72 hours. It’s nice because it can even interface with the USPS or other shipping company and tell you the exact shipping to charge based upon the final weight of the order.
