[Plugin: WP e-Commerce] Unreal E-commerce plugin

  • The plugin present a lot of bugs :

    • Display products with table, I guess they don’t know to use css
    • Checkout information are not order, you have the product on top, and we don’t know why, the rest (taxes and sub total) at the end
    • If you want to work on the design (on the display) you have to change the core, not very good for the next upgrade
    • Bug on the shipping calculate process, nothing happen when you enter a zip code
    • And the best, if you bought the plugin ($40) and you are not satisfied about above, they don’t refund you

    So, if you want a serious E-Commerce plugin, don’t pick this one

  • I agree it’s buggy. I’m here looking for a solution to a 500 internal server error when I activate it for a subdomain site, and I’m moving it to a subdomain because it slows the site down so much I want to contain it. As a programmer it really bothers me how frequently I find code in wp e-commerce that was clearly not thought through, or is just plain buggy.

    But each time I look for a solid alternative I come back to WP e-commerce as the most flexible easy-to-format solution.

    What do other people use instead?

    I am trying Shopp,

    This is a little more expensive, but not buggy and you can modify everything in the design without touch the core. And if you need to add Shopp function, the documentation is better and the forum is working well too (always someone to answer to your question)

    The only think a regret is the way you can add product with WP-ecommerce (with AJAX) ==> pretty cool

    For the resources, i think this is the same way, Shopp need a lot of resources.

    And With shopp you have a little bug when you are duplicate product, so you have to create a new one every time.
