[Plugin: WP-dTree] Help me order my posts please using ID's or dates (if possible)

Here is my problem. I have a number of posts under each category and i want to display the posts in a particular order. From the widget it appears that the order is controlled by post name, post date or post ID. I have been trying to order them using post ID or post date as changing the names will make it very awkward for my students.

For the life of me I can’t seem to figure out how to artificially change a post date or the ID. Is there a trick to this or something i can use to help me order the posts under each category?
