• I’m a little bit confused as to how I should be setting up roles in the Members plugin to work with the taxonomy permissions in document revisions.

What I want is for a user with a particular role to only be able to see the files that they are allowed to edit. I don’t want the files that a user cannot view/edit to appear in the list of documents as read-only.

I’ve installed the taxonomy permissions and members plugin and set up as per instructions here.

    I’ve tried two methods:

    1.

I’ve set up a new role, say ‘company1’, and then have assigned all base document revision roles, plus the permissions with the ‘in_company1’ suffix as well as the file upload permission.

The result of this is that a user with this role can edit and download only the files assigned to their role, but they can see a list of all the files that they don’t have permission to access too.

    2.

I’ve set up a new role, say ‘company1’, and then have assigned only the permissions with the ‘in_company1’ suffix as well as the file upload permission.

The result of this is that a user with this role can upload files but cannot see files that other users have uploaded, even if these files have been assigned to be visible to users with this role.

I’ve read another post in the forum that seems to be asking a similar question but I couldn’t quite work out what I should be doing from the answers given.

Any help is really appreciated. Thanks.
