I get the same behavior. I have uploaded a simple text document but when I click the download link I get: Something is wrong here ! And you don’t belong here. ! etc etc. I’m logged in as admin. I tried to make the document public but it didn’t help. Maybe there is something fundamental that I don’t understand here. Thanks! -A

This is most likely an issue of the plugin being able to write to the document upload directory or read the file. To debug I would:

    1) Verify the file is uploaded to the server via FTP

    2) Check your PHP error log for more information as to where the plugin is looking.

FTP you say… Thanks a lot! That was my problem. I have a local installation of WP and haven’t had it under my ftp root. I didn’t realize that FTP was needed for this plugin. Anyway, as a bonus I can now update my plugins with the convenient update command istead of having to copy files.

Are you actively maintaining this plugin? I’m thinking of adding a function for detached gpg signatures. I think that might satisfy e.g. FDA (I’m in the medical device business). Have you had any thoughts in this direction? Also user defined metadata would be great but one thing at the time. Thanks again for the plugin!
