[Plugin: WP-DB-Backup] Suddenly the mail application is not working anymore

    Hi all,

    I just wonder if anyone has this problem :-

    I have been using this plugin for the past 3 months with backup delivered to my mail box daily automatically. It had been doing a wonderful job daily without failed. However, a couple of weeks ago, it decided to stop deliver backup to my mail box. I tried to backup manually, and wanted it to send to my mail box. I received the following error message.

    “ERROR: The mail application has failed to deliver the backup.”

    I read some previous discussions on this topic, however, it was for the previous version, so I am assuming this issue has been solved with the current version. And I did not have any problem previously.

    I just wonder if anyone have tips on resolving this ?

  • Does other email from WP work? Does this plugin use PHPMailer? if so what version do you have?
    What was the previous issue and how was it resolved? I don’t use that plugin. Have my own scripts & cron job for backups.

    My other emails from WP, like readers’ comments, work. Umm….what is PHP mailer?

    However, it was 7 months ago, and they were discussing the previous version of this plugin. So,I assume whatever the problems have already been solved. Moreover, the way the issue was solved looks complicated to me. I am someone with no much knowledge of coding, so I am quite worried if I follow the steps I would screw up things.

    So, just wonder if anyone have similar problem with this 2.2.2 version, and any idea how to solve it?

    Not familar with this plugin specifically. But since it did work thinking the other posted solutions may not be related to your problem. They were mostly where it did not work at all.
    First thought is maybe a size restriction for the email. Sometimes with backups they get to large for the sending server, mail gateway or receiving mail server. WHat is the size of the backup now?

    Also you might post in the plugin’s support forum or email the author directly. Both are listed here:
