• seems silly that I have to even ask for this, but I think an average review feature is badly needed, this shouldn’t take too much time to work into the system..

You simply put a hook in the pahe like [average rating] and the plugin indentifies it and placed the review stars in the post on there.

I would and have in the past worked with coders to get iumportant features like these implemented. but then there were always issues with updates, and incompatibility issues. Since wordpress is constantly evolving, it’s not really feasable to pay a coder to look into this and constandly reupdate custom mosifications on each wordpress/plugin update.

Please can you consider this for the near future.

  • I’d definitely agree some sort of average rating function built into the next update would be great. I also think the multi-rating function discussed earlier in this post would be key too.

If I were able to be picky it would be great to have the average rating show up near the title for each post, not just at the top of the review section.

Also….it would be amazing to have a top rated widget.

I love the plugin though! I must have spent a couple of days looking for a rating/review plugin that was any good. With the changes above this plugin would definitely beat the GD Star rating plugin hands down as it is so much easier to use!

Yes, lot of +1’s from me too!

Avarage function, so I can show avarage rating of single post/review page.

And also, maybe even more important, top rated function, so I can provide users a page where they can see what posts/review pages have got best reviews.

I would be even willing to pay for these functions, if someone is interested!

All good suggestions and this will be added to the wishlist. Thank you!

Any news when the next release will be, I would really like a widget or the code I can put in a widget to get the review averages showing.
I will make the changes shown above if I need to, but if a new release is due soon I will wait.

Hi everyone! So I added the above code and and it worked great but it only displays with the [WPCR_INSERT] shortcode. If I just insert the [WPCR_SHOW] shortcode, it doesn’t appear. What I’m trying to do is show the [WPCR_SHOW] result to guests along with the average rating, but then hide the WPCR_INSERT] review form in the members-only section (so I can verify they’ve purchased the product before they review it). But potential buyers (who just want quick product info) should be able to see the average rating so they can decide if they want it or not.

Does the location where the PHP was inserted only apply to one of the shortcodes and not the other? And if so, where else should I insert the PHP to apply to both shortcodes? Thanks!

Also, I’ve inserted the “average rating” PHP code into the plugin file, as recommended by tamayo and patmatt above. However, when I used the [WPCR_SHOW] shortcode to display ratings for a certain post on a separate page, the shortcode returned an average rating of 0. I think this is because the shortcode is returning the average rating for the new page, not the post with the ratings. I specified the POSTID corresponding to the rated post, not the unrated page, so I’m confused as to why this is happening.

Hi is there a possibility to verify the email adress :

    1. user sends a review
    2. user receives email to verify mailaddress
    3. admin can approve / unapprove / edit review

this functionality exists with this plugin : Comment E-mail Verification (but then only for wp comments)

    kind regards,

    CB

That function, to verify email address, would reduce spam bot’s entries.

This plugin is fantastic, quick and easy to use. If it had rating averages, it would be the best review plugin out there.

Please consider implementing average ratings using short codes where you specify which page/post you want the averages from. This way, you could have the averages from multiple products on the same page.

First of all, thanks a lot for this very useful plugin. Also many thanks to tamayo for the providing code for average rating which makes this plugin so much better. I tried this out and it worked perfectly.

I having user submit reviews for pages (in my case, the pages are related to hotels, think of it as a mini tripadvisor). The only other thing I need to do is show the average rating somewhere at the top of the page. Preferably along with the title. One way I can think of doing this by using a short code called for example [WPCR_AVG PAGEID=”5″]. Any ideas on how to achieve this? I know very little about PHP and coding, but good at blindly following instructions ??
    Thanks

    Hello everyone,

I just came across this plugin and find it absolutely amazing and relevant to the website needs. Thank you for making it! ??

However, I still could not get the Average Overall Rating to show up on a particular post.

I made the changes to wp-customer-reviews.php file as instructed and still no luck… ??

    Any suggestions anyone?
