[Plugin: WP Complete Backup] Remote backup doesn't work

I set the IP address to my external IP and created an API key.
When I try https://xxxx.sterndata.com/wp-complete-backup/api-secretkey/both, all I get back is “1”, and nothing happens. What’s the trick to getting the remote backup trigger working?
