• I have just installed version 2.2.2 of the wordtube plugin into my 2.9.2 wordpress install, but I am unable to change the size of the player – whatever values I type into the width & height boxes in the wp-admin section of the wordtube plugin are just ignored. The player will only appear as 320 x 240!

Also, it’s not important, but might be related – the full-screen button appears regardless of whether the “Show full-screen button” option is checked or not.

Does anyone know what is going on here?

An example page is here: https://www.mongeese.co.uk/videos/nene-valley-railway-peterborough/spring-diesel-gala-2010/

Currently, I have the dimensions in “wp-admin -> Settings -> wordtube -> Media Player” set to 640×360 and the “Show the fullscreen button” option is unchecked.

As you can see, despite these settings, the player is appearing at 320×240 at the full-screen button is there anyway!

Now… i don’t know if this is relevant, but I had previously uploaded all my videos into the wordpress media library (before i installed the wordtube plugin). When I then added this video into wordtube’s library, I chose to add a file by URL. The URL i gave was the URL of the file in wordpress’ media library. I also tell the wordtube plugin to use the standard uploads directory for any uploads. Presumably, this means that the video file in wordpress’ media library actually has exactly the same URL as the video file in wordtube’s library. Is wordtube designed to be able to work like this, or do I need to specify a different upload directory for wordtube if i’m going to add video files from the wordpress media library by URL?

Thanks in advance, people, and I hope this makes sense! ??

    OK, i haven’t solved the problem, but I have discovered a workaround…

In the “wp_wordtube” database table, you will see an entry for each video. By editing the values for each entry, you can specify the resolution and whether it autostarts or not!

So… the bug seem to occur when the media is added to the database in the first place – not in the display side of it at all.

I’m having the same issue with setting the size of the player. Hopefully, Alex will provide some insight soon! Would love to use this.

Hi, its also only a workaround but you can resize the player with the css settings for width and height.

But its realy a bug that also appears in my installation.

    WordPress 2.9.1 and wordtube 2.2.2.

    me 3! .. stuck at 320 x 240 .. not great for accessibility.

Same problem, had to change the database, not what you expect from a plugin

i couldn’t find the setting options documentation from Alex Rabe as well, but this seems to work:

    [media id=1 width=200 height=200]

    same for playlist….
