I too had the stats page suddenly blocked, as others are reporting. Today when I logged in everything was fine – until I looked at some of the stats it’s reporting.

The data is showing hundreds of pageviews and link clicks for YESTERDAY, for a post that didn’t get published until today at noon.

Just how valid are any of these stats now??

Mine seems to be okay this morning and no need to change time zones. A million thanks to the folks behind the scenes, I know this can’t be easy stuff to deal with.

My self hosted site is still denying me because I am not ‘authorized to see the stats of this blog’

I have checked and changed the time zone and have been searching for authorization protocol. Can find nothing.

Have you added your self-hosted site as a user on your wordpress.com account?

I am listed as a user on the WP site but I am not sure that my site is listed as a self hosted site. I don’t know where to check for that. Help if you can, I will poke around the site again.
    Thanks.

I found my profile on the WP.org site and added my blog to the #1 blog field. In the main website field, my blog title is written in. Still no change in the authorization problem.

My sites are all self-hosted and using the WP Stats plugin – should I be using the JetPack plugin too? (I’d never heard of it until it came up in this thread.)

Jetpack is a new plugin that actually contains WordPress.com Stats, implemented in a slightly different manner. In one sense, it’s the future of WordPress.com Stats, but in another sense we won’t be discontinuing the WordPress.com Stats plugin at this time.

Basically, you’re welcome to use either, but I don’t recommend using both.

Thanks, James. Would you recommend changing to Jetpack (i.e. disabling WP Stats, adding and activating Jetpack), if that’s the future. And will converting to Jetpack lose the previous stats?

    Moderator James Huff

    (@macmanx)

I suppose I’d recommend it, after all I switched all of my self-hosted blogs to it. ??

You won’t lose your stats by switching.

    You won’t James Tech Wiz?……

I have several of the enclosed plugin’s in Jetpak….

    I’ll give it a few…

    Thank you ….

My stats seem to be better also…
    Jedi Magic eh, James TWiz?

I have just reinstalled jetpack and deactivated the old WP stats plug in. It seems to be working as it should now.
Thanks to any and all who were working behind the scenes to fix this.

BTW the WP stats, before I reinstalled Jetpack, still warned me that I ‘did not have authorization to see the stats for this blog’. . .

    Glad to here this…..

Something tells me JamesTWiz had a fix installed…..

I’m gonna give it a few before switching over…..
