• WordPress version: 3.4.2
    WordPress SEO version: 1.2.8.4

I did this: enabled the XML sitemap function (and, to test the problem, I’ve disabled all other plug-ins – it makes no difference so I’ve re-enabled them)

I expected the plugin to do this: create sitemap files that I could see.

Instead it did this: the XML sitemap tool says it has created sitemaps. I can feed the four filenames it lists into Google Webmaster Tools and it seems happy with them.

But I can’t actually see the files using FileZilla. Another tool – Traffic Travis – says my site doesn’t have a sitemap.

So I’m confused – is there a sitemap or isn’t there?

  • I also faced this problem after updating to v1.2.8.3. (while it was fine before). But now I updated to v1.2.8.4, XML sitemap is back again.
