• Love, love, love WordPress SEO, but June 1, 2012 my site, JeffersonStatePost.com, stopped loading in both Chrome and Firefox with “too many redirects” error, and white screen for WP Dashboard.

Only disabling WordPress SEO stopped the error. (After renaming “plugins folder” to “plugins_old” and creating new “plugins” folder.)

Now with all other plugins disabled, even activating the WordPress SEO plugin by itself reproduces the error. Ouch! What to do?

Searching on the internet indicates this may have something to do with how my Permalinks are set up (in my case /%category%/%postname%/).

Can I delete WordPress SEO and its files and reinstall to get it working again? Is there a better solution?

  • He Neckrub,

I have the same problem, but just with one of my pages. I changed the URL of the page and started to get the error after that. I changed the URL back, but that didn’t make any difference.
The only way it doesn’t happen is if I delete WordPress SEO.
Did you find a solution to your problem already?

    Hi Ron,
Unfortunately, I could not find a solution to this issue.
I was hopeful that Yoast’s most recent updates to the SEO plugin would solve the problem, but alas, that is not the case, for me, anyway.
For the site I mentioned, I had to go to the All-In-One SEO plugin.
I have left Yoast’s SEO installed but not activated, in case this ever gets resolved.
I would love to hear that it has been fixed.
Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful than that.
