[Plugin: WordPress SEO by Yoast] Video seo & WP seo sitemap problems

  • WordPress version: 3.4.1
    WordPress SEO version: 1.2.8.5

    I did this: I bought and installed the seo plugin, did all the settings, saved them and then clicked on the “Re-index Videos” button.

    I expected the plugin to do this: To find all the pages and posts on my site that have videos on them and to submit a sitemap.xml file to google webmasters tools.

    Instead it did this: The plugin found only one post that have a video in it which isn’t mine, it’s a Youtube embeded video, It didn’t find any of the pages(I ticked posts, pages & media in the settings) that include my videos. I have 2 videos in my Youtube account which I have on my site embeded on 2 pages, The plugin created an empty video xml file and didn’t upload anything to my google webmasters tools. I want to add here that I’ve used the Google XML sitemaps plugin by Arne Brachhold but it is stoped on my site.

    1. How can I load sitemaps to my webmasters existing account? (I don’t have a verification code because I used another method to verify it, but when clicking on the link in my Seo plugin it takes me to my webmasters tools account).
    2. Why am I getting an empty page?

  • I also have the sme problem.
    I have plenty of videos, embeded in my blog, but Video Seo is saying taht has found only one…

    i am experiencing the same problem as ioannoukostas.

    After indexing videos, only 1 video is listed in the video sitemap.

    The plugin reports indexing several videos and no errors are reported.

    PHP memory is set to 256MB.

    Same here. Always like Yoast SEO but this video plugin does not appear to be of the same quality. It simply does not work and the 10 ratings of 1 indicate a problem to which the author is not responding. Not good especially after spending $89 which is a lot more than most other plugins of the same capability.

    The problem for me turned out to be a plugin called “Frontpage Category Filter”.

    i replaced it with PE Category Filter and things started working, sort of.

    It looks like FCF filtered out everything except for posts in the selected categories. This included pages as well!

    PECF also filters out categories but leaves pages alone.

    The end result for me is that i have one category of posts that do not have their embeded videos recognised but the pages are being left alone.

    Hope this helps someone.

    The latest update appears to have caused a problem with detecting Youtube videos on pages.

    Even with no category filter plugins running, Youtube videos on pages are not being picked up.

    My video sitemap is now empty.

    Please advise.

    So far this plugin appears to have been a waste of both time and money.

    Update.

    Now running wordpress 3.5, and latest versions of WordPress SEO & WordPress SEO Video.

    Everything seems to be working great.

    I recently added Video SEO plugin for WordPress SEO.

    The sitemap appears to be capturing all videos and I entered an image for each one in the post edit page.

    I manually submitted the video sitemap to google…It is giving me 19 errors (21 videos in sitemap)…
