[Plugin: WordPress SEO by Yoast] Title and Sitemap issues a suggestion
-
Plugin Version 1.2.8.4
Hello,
I’m facing some issues with the latest version of the plugin (I don’t know since when, honestly).
1. Any custom post type archive page title shows postypename %%sep%% %%sitename%%%%sitename%%
An example: Press reviews | progettoaniképrogettoaniké here
I’m trying to figure out if the issue is caused by WP-SEO or Ultimatum Theme.
Unfortunately I’m currently unable to create a local test copy and my hosting provider is working on enabling a stage environment for each site.
Therefore I can’t just disable the theme or other plugins, but I’d like to know if someone else is facing the same issue.I’ve actually removed the %%sitename%% placeholder from all WP-SEO settings, but I’m still seeing the site title in all pages in this form: title{space}%%sep%%%%sitename%% (I even lose a space, even though there is one at the end of each template that is “%%title%% %%sep%% “: probably WP-SEO trims starting and ending spaces?
2. XML Sitemap creates a sitemap for comments. The site has comments disabled and no comments anyway and this is causing warnings (if not errors) in Google Webmaster Tools.
For this issue i’ve temporary disabled this feature and installed Google Sitemap Generator plugin, that seems to have solved this issue.
However I’ve read that WP-SEO is enabling the XML Sitemap by default: wouldn’t this create conflicts with if other sitemap plugins are already installed? Now my advice: please add an option to reset all settings to their default values: after changing all settings in order to find out what was causing the first issue, I think I’ve messed up a bit.
