[Plugin: WordPress SEO by Yoast] Sitemap not generated in the right format

I have this exact same issue.
Running latest
WordPress version: 3.4.1
WordPress SEO version: 1.2.4

Even though it’s XML, Google Webmasters Tools sees the XML Sitemap Index as HTML for some reason. So I don’t know if it is detecting the children sitemaps (posts, pages, categories).

So I submitted the individual child sitemaps, and they work fine, they do not indicate the seen as HTML error.

I need links to your XML Sitemaps, also, please check if 1.2.5 fixes your issue ??

I updated to 1.2.5, still the same error.

I also excluded categories from my sitemap, because it was giving a 404 anyway (not sure why), and the error still appears in GWMT for the Index, but not for the 2 child sitemaps.

Yes, after I updated to 1.2.5, I deleted all the sitemaps in GWMT then resubmitted the index.

@kat_indo: your XML sitemap isn’t working at all, please read this thread and follow the instructions there. If the issue persists, try to formulate your problem in a new thread using the template in that post. I can’t do anything based on what you’re telling me here.
