  • I would imagine Yoast would tell you it’s not for those who don’t know SEO, but the plugin does give descriptions for most of the terminology / options provided. Have you tried Yoast’s website. Many excellent posts there regarding SEO and best practices.

ericgraig: Here’s the thing. Yoast has this old post that doesn’t look a thing like what he’s developed now.

I’d like to see an idiot-proof description for all of these options, and the consequences of using them or not. Like the verbose explanations of settings for the “Indexation” settings.

    Hello,

I, too, am somewhat of a newbie, and after reading the description of the plugin’s capabilities, thought that

    a) instructions for the meaning of the meta tags and all the stuff on the title page would be included

    or

    b) that, upon request, an explanation of these terms would be offered to newbies.

@bcarterI would imagine Yoast would tell you it's not for those who don't know SEO

But, before downloading and donating to the plugin, Joost didn’t mention anything of the sort. In fact, it seemed to me that Joost wrote this plugin for people who were not familiar with all the ins and outs of SEO – to help us accomplish better SEO.

Anyway, all that being said, after installing the plugin today, I’m happy with what I’ve seen so far, but I still have the same questions as Eric.

Is there any way to provide a newbie-friendly document/explanation of the terms that have spaces for us to fill in? Hopefully you might be willing to further assist some of us tech-challenged, but determined bloggers, Joost!

    Thanks so much.

    Regards,

    Diana
