I’ve come across a number of minor, but annoying, glitches with the latest version of WordPress SEO.

    1. When typing in the SEO Title or Meta Description fields, Firefox will suddenly run very slowly. Currently, to be efficient, I have to type the text in notepad and paste into these fields. (The slow-down is to the extreme, it will cause Firefox to momentarily become non-responsive – on a I5 processor, 4GB RAM, and Windows 7) – haven’t tried this in IE, Chrome, etc.

    2. Under indexation, I have disable indexing of authors and tags, yet there is no “robots” meta tag on these pages, e.g. https://speakspanishlikeagringo.com/author/Graeme/

    3. Not a biggie – but as the functionality is there, it should work: I have turned on meta keywords, and in the template put %%tag%% to use the current tags in the meta keywords field (saves cutting and pasting them). However, meta keywords are not generated automatically, e.g. https://speakspanishlikeagringo.com/30-day-learn-spanish-challenge/

(As can be seen in the code, meta description field is put in there correctly, but of course this is not from a template)

%%tag%% should work correctly, as it turns up correctly in the tag pages title using the template, e.g. https://speakspanishlikeagringo.com/tag/spanish-language/

I think that is all I’ve noticed so far, using this plugin on most of my sites now.

  • I have some bugs (probably) to report too.

    1. When Redirect Ugly is enabled, the front page will never load. FF says its because of a problem with redirection.

    2. Title and Description are copied from All in ONE SEO, but keywords are not copied!

I switched to 0.2.1 from All in One SEO and I too noticed that the meta keywords were not copied over when doing an import.

Also, some people are reporting a new timeout bug when publishing. When I uninstall Yoast WordPress SEO then publishing is normal again.

Firefox sometimes has trouble with character counter JS. Some configurations also have trouble with Twitter. On linux I do not have this problem but on windows I do. I have no problems with Chrome.

I have the same issue as gnwilson. I just installed version 0.2.1 with a new install of WP 3.0.4. Whenever I try to enter an SEO Title, Description or Keywords, it takes about 10 seconds to reflect each character in the snippet and if you enter more than a few characters, FireFox becomes unresponsive and locks up. I’m using the current version of FireFox (3.6.13). I just tried it with Internet Explorer 8 and it works fine.

I think the JavaScript code for the snippet is the problem.

Is there a way to disable the snippet? It is a bells-and-whistles type of feature that is almost useless.

The second problem that I noticed is that when the XML site map was created, it assigned a date of 1999-11-30 to the home page. The About Us and post pages look fine.

Just to add… I have the same issue, too.

Sometimes the plugin changes the Meta Robots settings in my posts to NoFollow and NoIndex automatically.

I don’t have any other plugins using theses settings.

I didn’t experience any of the problems mentioned above though.

I tried this in IE last night and it also has the same issue.

I also have problem described in the point 2. of the first post of the thread

Most, if not all, of these issues should have been fixed in the 0.2.2 release, please let me know if you’re still encountering issues.

I’m seeing this issue on a new WP install. Once I activate WordPress SEO, Firefox typing slows to a crawl, it’s literally unusable. Deactivate the plugin, it runs fine.

Poptopjosh: which version of the plugin are you using?

I am having many of these problems, plus several others. I am trying to use in IE and Chrome with the same results. First off, I’m not entirely sure where to look to see what version of the plugin I am using. I’m also wondering if I could have a bad install of the plugin. It seems like I just recently updated. Is there a way to re-install if that is recommended?

Reinstall is simple: just delete and reinstall, or download a new version and copy it over the older one ?? Then please open a new topic and specifically describe your problems.
