[Plugin: WordPress SEO by Yoast] microdata markup for breadcrumbs

I have a new WP site and just installed v1.2.3 of WordPress SEO.
The breadcrumbs are great. Work perfectly. But maybe I got a bit carried away. I changed the function breadcrumb to add markup compatible with MicroData – https://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=185417
I probably could (Should?) have used the new Schema.org markup.
Anyway, my question is. Was that worth it? If I update to 1.2.5 I’m going to lose that, right? Any plans to include schema.org markup on the breadcrumbs?
