It’s not an issue with the plugin.

Google does not always show the meta description – it will show what it regards to be the most relevant snippet for a search query.

“Photos, Blog and much more” is quite a poor meta description – both in terms of a lack of keywords, and enticing people to click through from SERPS.

Try writing more relevant descriptions, and include some keywords relevant to your site.

Hey there Joost. I’ve been using this plugin for a few weeks and it’s still not showing the meta description in Google, Yahoo, & Bing.

It’s showing the individual post descriptions in the search engine’s, just not my home pages?

Any ideas why?

I am having problems with the WORDPRESS SEO by YOAST Plugin.

I enter the Meta Title and Meta Descriptions in the plugin. The Meta Title shows up in the source code, however, the source code only has the first few words of the Meta Description and then cuts off.

EXAMPLE URL:
https://www.curbstreet.com/blog/how-to-invest-in-commercial-real-estate/

In addition, the Meta Description does not show in the google SERPs – only the beginning of the content on the actual post/page. I have optimized hundreds upon hundreds of meta titles and meta descriptions, but have never seen this.

I am a new user with this Yoast plugin – any help would be greatly appreciated.

As you can see the meta title works, but the meta description isn’t working. Any ideas?
