[Plugin: WordPress SEO by Yoast] Image ALT text and keyword density

    The Page Analysis tab counts Image ALT text in its keyword density calculation. Should it? My posts that are heavy on images with ALT text are going way over the recommended range in keyword density even though the content body text is well within the recommendations. If that is indeed calculating correctly, then I’ll clearly have to find a workaround because the current numbers are well within the “over-optimized” percentages.

  • Keywords in the ALT text should not be counted while calculating keyword density. ALT is for image’s description which has nothing to do with the content you’ve written.
