    Hi,

I use WP 3.4 with theme “twenty ten 3.4” and latest version of WordPress SEO.

In former versions of WP SEO there was always a note about adding <title><?php wp_title(''); ?></title> to header.php

I don’t find that note in the latest version. Is it still necassary to add this code to header.php?

    Thanks for your answers.

Well yes and no. The plugin now auto detects whether force rewrite is necessary. If it checks force rewrite for you, then changing your title to that would indeed prevent the need for it to be on, which is a performance improvement.

    Hi joost,
Thank you for the quick answer.
Force rewrite is not checked. Did auto detection run during the update procedure? Or does it only run on a new installation of the plugin?

It runs at several times, you could switch themes back and forth to force it to run, for instance.
