[Plugin: WordPress SEO by Yoast] BUG: Plugin adds random words in the META description

  • I just noticed that the plugin automatically adds some sentence to the META description without my permission. The sentence it adds is “Android G1 powered robot” (screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/VR3mT.jpg )

    while the default META description in the settings is: “Funny Pictures and LOLPics. Get the BEST Funny Pictures, LOLPics and MEMES from The Funny Pictures Blog. Hourly Updates of LOLPics and MEMES” (Screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/ZC6bN.jpg )

    Does anyone know whats going on? this happens only a few times / day (update the blog with 48 pics / day and 2-3 of them gets the odd description)

    Any suggestion on how to fix this?

    I still need help with this guys!

    i think that this plugin is using the meta from my older seo platinum plugin i was using on my other mobile blog back in 2009, but that blog isnt even on the server anymore so i have no idea on how its using the meta from there on my current blog.

    Perhaps this solution could help –> Is it possible to somehow delete the “saved” meta from the older SEO plugins (platinum seo) in the database?

    It is, but I’m quite sure it’s actually using other meta terms so this is not the issue, try disabling all other plugins.

    already tried to disable the plugins few days ago, but its still adding the old meta tags. I think its caused by the “SEO Data Transporter plugin” that was recommended to import from the platinum Seo to the wordpress seo plugin (i used it for 5 weeks ago when i switched from platinum seo to wordpress seo).

    but this doesnt explain why its adding meta tags from an deleted blog from 2009. (the blog wasnt even running on the same server). and it definitely dont explain why its STILL adding the meta tags to new posts.

    so thats why im wondering if its possible to manually / automatically delete all the META pags from the previous posts. maybe this will help to not getting the meta description from 2009 on my new posts.

    btw, i tested to disable all the plugins today again, didnt work. but i tested to disable the wordpress seo and installed platinum seo and all in one seo and didnt have any problems with the meta description at all with these two plugins.

    perhaps this is a bug with wordpress seo?

    I have been running the headspace2 plugin the last week and havent have any problem with the META description so ill guess that its a bug in the WordPress SEO plugin?
