[Plugin: WordPress Portfolio Plugin (WP Portfolio)] Installation Trouble

I installed the portfolio plugin activated it and even added the portfolio.php” and “portfolio-post.php” into my themes folders and then reinstalled my theme and I still keep getting this message:

The following files “portfolio.php” and “portfolio-post.php” were not found in the directory of your theme. Please copy them from the directory /wp-content/plugins/portfolio/template/ to the directory of your theme for the correct work of the Portfolio plugin

I am not sure what its asking me to do.
