I am trying to use WordPress Move to migrate a large site to a new host. I have used it successfully before with other sites on different servers, but the current server it is on times out while trying to back up files, using both Migration tool and Backup Manager.

I have tried 5MB up to 50MB chunks for the zip sizes but it still times out. It appears that the current server cannot handle zipping up such a large amount of data. I have only been able to back up the database at 22MB, but no success in backing up the system files.

    I saw in the changelog:

If the Safe Mode is disabled, operations will not be interrupted by the maximum execution time error anymore.

How can I disable “Safe Mode” and what am I disabling it for?

I would like to try this so I can avoid manually downloading and uploading this large site to the new host.

Any help is appreciated and thank you.

First of all, sorry for the late reply.

Safe Mode needs to be disabled because the plugin needs to set the time limit to zero, in order to prevent the problem you encountered. You may need to contact your host to disable Safe Mode.
