[Plugin: WordPress Move] blank page on new domain after migration without errors – cannot log in eit

  • hey there,

    theoretically this plugin just sounds awesome! so I really hope to get some help here: I installed the plugin on both sides, set up everything fine and all the parameters were correct. but then, after the message of a successful migration on the new page: blank white page.with no error message whatsoever… what seemed a bit suspicious to me was the speed of the transfer within a few seconds, and I’m talking about an image-heavy site.

    now I cannot even re-login on my new domain and I’m trying to find the problem..any help appreciated.

    another thought: do I have to migrate data via ftp first? or is it all part of the plugin process?

    What I have found is if you don’t have your permissions set to read/write on your new server sometimes it fouls up.

    What I do if this happens is start the migration process (Go through the same exact instructions that Mert has provided) which puts the files in your backup directory on your old site. (Make sure you have cleared out your old backups before doing this, you only want the migration files.)

    I then FTP these files over to your new server in your backup directory, then I finish the “Migration Process” (Third Option) and it should work.

    Sometimes as well you have to update your permalinks, it just resets it to the correct settings on your new server.

    Sometimes I have to do all this sometimes not. I am not sure if it is a php thing or what, but it’s hit and miss.

    I have the same blank white page problem. I then deleted everything and started from scratch and tried the method that Da-Chief described. I still get the blank white page. I can, however, still log in to my wp-admin (moditz said he couldn’t even do that).

    Any help with this?
