[Plugin: WordPress Mobile Pack] Switcher is buggy

    Hi,

    The switcher isn’t quite working right for me. I basically have to click on links to switch between mobile and desktop twice to get it to work when I’m on my computer. When I’m on my smartphone, it works fine.

    For example, when I am on my site (https://nmpolitics.net/index) on my desktop computer, and click the “Mobile version” link at the bottom of the page, it takes me to “https://www.nmpolitics.net/index/?wpmp_switcher=mobile” but still shows the desktop version. If I click on “Mobile version” again, then it takes me to the mobile version.

    And from there, if I click “standard version” at the bottom of the page to go back to the desktop version, it takes me back to the desktop version, but if I then click on the NMPolitics.net logo at the top of the page to go back to the home page, it takes me to the mobile version again, and I have to click the “standard version” link again to take it back to the right place.

  • Yes it’s buggy – and probably caused revenue loss for me.

    It does not switch to the mobile version on my Nokia E5, Opera MOST of the time. Sometimes it switches, sometime it doesn’t. Unreliable as it is, I don’t have problems with it – I can look for an alternative, so I just let it be there.

    But to my horror I found after many hours that it detects my Firefox 3.6.13 as some kinda mobile browser and switches to the mobile version. My site was void of ads for probably all Firefox users and it seems to have affected my revenue.

    Be careful if you are selling ads on your website!
