• First of all, I think this plugin is by far the easiest to use and the only one I’ve gotten to run. However, there is only one thing that frustrates me. The submenus blend in with the information in “content” section of the site. I added a “z-index” and that works with Firefox, Chrome and the like, but nothing seems to work with IE. What can I do?

  • This is likely a CSS Issue. I have dozens of examples just haven’t had time to publish them in a tutorial but you are welcome to take a look at some code examples I did for these projects.

    https://www.codefreelance.com
    https://www.highrisetheseries.com
    https://www.ultimateidx.com
https://www.mendyourmortgage.com (code in the template already)
https://visaliahomesforsale.com (code in the template already)

Some templates like those they used in the last two examples came with the suckerfish code already in place. All I did was open the style.css file and change the UL ID being referenced in the menu to that of the menu creator prefix which is #mc_menu_1

I’ve also created a basic guide on the CSS coding here at https://www.jaredritchey.com/tutorials/menucreator/

I’ll get some code examples published later this week.

For now feel free to contact me and I’ll help where I can.

I also love this plugin and have had no trouble creating the menu. I’m having trouble finding exactly where to put the code in the template. I’m using Thesis theme and have tried several locations, but it always shows up vertically in the top left corner of my site and I’d really like for it to replace my horizontal navigation bar. Any suggestions would be great. For now, I removed the code from all of my templates. My site is https://www.bemorebalanced.com. Thanks for any suggestion anyone can give me.

Adding it to Thesis is difficult because that particular template doesn’t follow the standard hierarchy for WordPress themes.

It can be done but it would take me about an hour or so to hash it out.

Where did you want the menu to appear?

    Jared

    Jared,

You mentioned on your page that you would be willing to set up the menu manager for a small fee; how do I get in touch with you to do that? I can’t seem to get the plugin to work correctly, and I’d really like to use it!

    Thanks,
    Bob

We had a similar issue with z-index not working on IE on https://www.relv.com due to having multiple layers not related to the Menu Creator.

The rotating header image would cover all of the submenu items in IE.

We eventually rearranged the priority of the layers to overcome the z-index failure.

    Hope this helps.

Yeah I really wont charge a person if its a pretty standard template and nothing super exotic. Just contact me via the contact page on my site at https://www.jaredritchey.com

    Fixed in this release 1.1.2

just send me an email at jared-at-jaredritchey.com

I can usually fix most menu issues in a few minutes so I dont charge for that so please feel free to submit your request and naturally we always love reviews.

If you look at this San Diego Real Estate website you will see that all sub-menu issues have been addressed with the latest version of the Menu Manager.

You will still need to style your menu but if you look at the source code on this site you will see how this plugin supports unlimited levels of cascading sub-menus.

So if you don’t apply any CSS the submenus don’t appear at all? I’m having some issues that I will have to research. I have one submenu that’s not displaying (it is listed WordPress Menu Creator > Edit This Menu) but is not displaying. I used the Widget to insert the menu. Do I need to not use a Widget and just insert the php tag into my template?
