[Plugin: WordPress Hit Counter] Need more numbers

How can I amend the WordPress Hit Counter to show more numbers?
I have a challenge that I can get more than a million viewers to my site before the end of the year. I really like the plugin but it will only show 6 numbers (i.e. only going up to 999,999) where I need higher. I would like it to keep counting after a million and then into double figure millions etc. Is there a way the plugin can be amended to show this?
