• Hello

I have just installed the download-monitor plugin. It looks like it has everything that I need in a download manager including the ability to allow member only downloads.

I tried adding a category, but no category gets added. When I try to add a file I get an error that says – “Error saving to database” – and then when I try to add the file again it says – “Uploading Riding the Rapids2008.pdf…Error! Sorry, a file with this name already exitst.”

Is there a bug with the plugin?

    Thanks in advance.

    ashley

  • Same problem here ??

I just encountered the same problem,.. are you guys running 2.6.x?

I think it may a versioning conflict with 2.6,…

Update: I was able to insert a new download by hand, so I am guessing the issue has something to do with the insertion in the database portion of the plugin.

    Update #2:

If you are using wp-cache or wp-super-cache, this is what I did to get mine working.

    1. Deactivate the DLM plugin
    2. Clear all cache files
    3. re-activate the DLM plugin

I don’t know if the caching plugin has anything to do with it, but since it generates static files for viewing I figured it was worth a shot. It did work for me, YMMV.

You probably should try to recreate the download database. To do this you go to Manage > Downloads and choose the option to recreate the database. Create a backup of your database first!

I had the same issue and simply recreated the database and I was good to go.

I’m having the same problem. I tried to recreate the database, but it deleted the tables instead of recreating them. I had to restore the tables from a back-up, but the “error saving to database” problem is still there. Help? ??

How do I clear or recreate the database? I couldn’t deactivate or clear the plugin because it doesn’t even show up on my plugin list (although installation was succesful according to the message that poped up).

As a matter of fact, I cannot even log in to my admin site because of the error message poping up. I am using 2.7, so if anyone knows how I can manually delete everything that has to do with this uncompatibel plugin, let me know- should be easy for frequent wordpress users, I hope? ??

same problem to me with the last version of wordpress…
    what can I do?
