[Plugin: WordPress Category Archive] Widget Won't drag to Sidebar

  • I found this plug-in and was absolutely excited about it because I have two blog rolls going on my blog and instead of installing a brand new wordpress system, this plugin allows me to have two diffent archives listing for each blogroll.

    The problem I have is that on the widget page, when I go to add the widget to my side bar, I can’t pick it up. It doesn’t drag over. Click on it when the little arrow pops up and dragging causes me to highlight the page rather than move the widget.

    Is anyone having this problem? Is it the plugin itself or did I do something wrong during installation?

    I am using wordpress 3.0.1 and plugin version 1.3.0.

  • I was searching for the same answer! The WordPress Category Archive widget is behaving in the exact same manner you described, right down to highlighting the whole page. I was really anxious to try this plugin. Perhaps its a conflict between the plugin and the theme. I’m using wordpress 3.0.1, plugin version 1.3.0, and Atahualpa theme 3.6.4.

    Perhaps someone else has had the same problem and found a solution or a workaround.

    Sounds like a JavaScript issue.

    Can you drag other widgets?

    Have you tried different browsers?

    Thanks for such a quick reply. I feel a bit foolish because I didn’t even think to check in another browser. It works fine in Firefox. IE 8 was where I had the problem. This was the only widget I could not drag. I did try deactivating other widgets, but it still would not drag to the sidebar. Again, everything seems to work perfect in Firefox. Just another reason to stay away from Explorer-LOL. Thanks again for the help and a great plugin.
