[Plugin: WordPress Backup to Dropbox] Destroyed the site

I thought about this for a bit. Maybe it isn’t as bad as I thought. I’ve been trialling backup solutions so it may not be this one, but I read that some of them, while backing up, make the site unavailable.

So, probably, silly me for stopping it mid-stream (though I figure 8 hours is plenty of time!) and the site is still offline (though I get a “This webpage is not available. The connection to https://www.cordancetechnologies.com was interrupted.”)

All the files are intact on the server – there must be something set in a file to do this. Can anyone help?

This plugin does not take your site offline. As a SEO expert you should very well know that downtime is bad for page rank! ??

The time it takes to backup depends on how long your host allows PHP processes to run. If its set to a really low value then only a couple of files can make it to Dropbox every 5 or so minutes bloating the time to finish.

A connection interrupted message can be the result of anything from a faulty router down to a glitch in the server. So id hazard a guess it was circumstantial.
