    Gday Mark,

There are no immediate plans. However I think zipping will be a good feature if I can find an efficient way of doing so.

What would you like zipped? The DB dump? The website? or both?

    Cheers,

I think probably allowing us to select what to include in the zip file (gz, tar, whatever) just like you asked via radio buttons.

    ° DB SQL Dump
    ° All Files
? Both (SQL Dump and Site files)

    And default to both.

zipping the sql file makes the most sense since it is dumped when every backup is made.

I think the option to zip or gzip the DB file is an excellent idea. I’m looking around for a better blog backup plugin, and I love the idea of being able to back my blog up to my dropbox account. I may well give this plugin a try – but FWIW, if it had already had a DB compression option, my search would have been over.
