[Plugin: Wordfence Security] WordFence severely limiting access to the site, even after uninstallati
-
I run a film reviewing site. Recently, WordFence started acting up, I think after the latest update. I say ‘think’ because here’s what’s going on:
I usually stay logged in on my site, so I haven’t noticed the problem until a reader notified my that WF had limited his access to the site. That was a few days after the update. It worked fine for me, so I decided to log out and visit not as an admin, but as a “regular” visitor – and voila! The site is virtually inaccessible because of WF.
Namely, almost whichever page I wish to click on (including the second page and onwards in the pagination tab at the bottom of the site) gets me this error:
Wordfence has limited your access to this site
Your access to this service has been temporarily limited. Please try again in a few minutes. (HTTP response code 503)
Reason: Exceeded the maximum number of page requests per minute for humans.
I tried tinkering with the firewall options – didn’t work.
I tried disabling the firewall altogether – didn’t work.
Finally, I tried uninstalling WF – didn’t work!
I even tried logging manually to my web-host cPanel and delete the WF folder manually from the plugins folder – didn’t work!!!I flushed the WP cache, cleared my browser cache, cookies, etc. – nothing works!!!
The website is: https://coolawesomemovies.com/
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
