• If people are having problems with my Wordbooker plugin rather than just voting saying its “broken” can you please post some information and I’ll look into it.

I know that it doesn’t play well with some other Facebook plugins down to the fact that they are using old and obsolete versions of the Facebook API client libraries which don’t support the methods this plugin uses. Unfortunately there isn’t a lot I can do about that.

  • I quick-edited a load of posts today and got a load of Facebook updates also. I have not touched most of them since installing Wordbooker — i.e. I have not turned on “Force update on edit” — so I guess this is a bug, and a serious one for that.

But if default publish is enabled then Wordbooker will see them as new posts and push them up to Facebook.

Version 2 will handle “old” posts in a much more robust way

But in which way is quick edit different from normal edits which Wordbooker seems to handle much better?

I did onlz change categories, mind, not the dates.

When do do you expect to push v2?

Version 2 is going to be quite some time. Wordbooker gets worked on in my spare time and I’m pulling some long days at the moment.

Over the weekend wordbooker was working fine, but then it deactivated, and i havent been getting posts to my fan page. when i tried to reactivate the thing, i got a very long and complicated fatal error. (It is currently version 1.8.17 and my goDaddy account is running PHP 5.x)

    this is the error text:
    Fatal error: Uncaught exception ‘FacebookRestClientException1’ with message ‘Session key invalid or no longer valid’ in /home/content/a/b/o/aboveglamour/html/blog/wp-content/plugins/wordbooker/facebook-platform/php/facebookapi_php5_restlib.php:3065 Stack trace: #0 /home/content/a/b/o/aboveglamour/html/blog/wp-content/plugins/wordbooker/facebook-platform/php/facebookapi_php5_restlib.php(1747): FacebookRestClient1->call_method(‘facebook.users….’) #1 /home/content/a/b/o/aboveglamour/html/blog/wp-content/plugins/wordbooker/wordbooker_cron.php(275): FacebookRestClient1->users_getLoggedInUser() #2 /home/content/a/b/o/aboveglamour/html/blog/wp-content/plugins/wordbooker/wordbooker_options.php(713): wordbooker_poll_facebook(NULL) #3 /home/content/a/b/o/aboveglamour/html/blog/wp-content/plugins/wordbooker/wordbooker.php(2644): include(‘/home/content/a…’) #4 /home/content/a/b/o/aboveglamour/html/blog/wp-admin/plugins.php(158): include(‘/home/content/a…’) #5 /home/content/a/b/o/aboveglamour/html/blog/wp-admin/plugins.php(160): in /home/content/a/b/o/aboveglamour/html/blog/wp-content/plugins/wordbooker/facebook-platform/php/facebookapi_php5_restlib.php on line 3065

If anyone has a solution that will get wordbooker up and running again, or can initiate a dialogue with me, that would be great.

Something is invalidating Facebook sessions but I have no idea what. I’ve raised a bug with FB

    Hey Steve,

I have a client who’s site I installed WordBooker. It’s working great with one exception. He’s got it set so it retrieves comments from his facebook profile and adds them to the blog post. It does that perfectly, but then the blog posts it back to his facebook profile again. It stops there, doesn’t keep looping. Any thoughts.

    Here’s his facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/#!/keith.ahrens

You can see this effect on the post about “Happy Thanksgiving”

    Anyway, just an fyi.

    Thanks Steve,

    Ted

The code should stop them going back because of how I call the add comment code.

Fairly strange problem that I have tried to identify but haven’t managed to find any cause. No errors are appearing anywhere that I can find (diagnostics or PHP).

I setup wordbooker and it worked fine. I’ve added another administrator to my blog who also setup his wordbooker account. His works fine, however mine can no longer find the fanpage we are posting to on Facebook and posts to my own private facebook profile instead of the fanpage. The other author’s wordbooker posting is still working fine and publishing to the fanpage like it should.

Under the user level customisation of wordbooker, in the section “(instead of) publishing to a personal wall, post to the following fan page “, the drop down menu no longer shows the fanpages that I’m an admin of.

Any idea how to fix this? If not then maybe it can be looked into for version 2?

I have tried resetting all of the blog defaults and uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin. No change to the problem.

    Thanks,
    Nathan Dixon

Turn on the diagnostics and do a Refresh Status which should give you a long trace – does that trace show the pages?
