• This seems like a great plugin but I can’t get it to function. While it seemed to install okay up through activation, when I make the configuration changes – or even not – just trying to save the configuration page, I get this error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: file_put_contents() in /wp-content/plugins/wordbay/WordBay.php on line 547

I’ve tried changing permissions on that file all the way to 777 with no luck.

Using Version 1.25 of the WordBay.

  • Hi, I am the author of WordBay, someone pointed me this way. Sorry, file_put_contents is a php5 function, WordBay does not support PHP4, I am sorry, I have probably not emphasised this anywhere. It’s likely you are running on PHP4. If so, you need a host that supports PHP5 (you may be able to change the PHP version in the control panel), PHP4 is being deprecated by most programmers. Let me know if you don’t think this is the problem.

Thank you for the response! Yah, I bet that is it. Not running PHP5 and unless I can change that on a domain by domain basis I’m outta luck. Hosting is a VPS enviroment and some of my other sites still depend on PHP4 for now. I’ll look into it before I mark this issue resolved.

    Thanks again!
