  • What are you trying to accomplish with the UPS extension?

I’m just trying to calculate rates with only weight, no dimensions. I was told the extension is capable of that but, if I choose “pack into boxes,” the API aborts because there aren’t dimensions. If I choose “pack individually,” it calculates rates, but they are grossly inaccurate for anymore than one product. Every time I add a product to the cart, the rates basically double. I can’t just add dimensions either. I have a couple thousand products updated daily with an XML feed on multiple domains and none have dimensions.

Hmm, getting the shipping quotes accurate will be difficult when you don’t have accurate box sizes. I might recommend setting up some shipping classes that have associated dimensions (e.g. small, medium, large) and use them to assign a dimension to the box size sent to UPS. This probably would require some custom coding.

I wouldn’t know where to start if I was attempting it myself. Should I try and find someone on elance or something? Do you freelance? Someone with a trained eye may look at it and see it’s actually a simple fix, I’m not sure. I just don’t see why it would be advertised to be capable of something if it really isn’t. I know my distributor calculates theirs with only weight, I’m pretty sure they don’t use woocommerce, though.

I’d recommend looking at on https://www.woothemes.com/affiliated-woo-workers/ and submitting a few requests for proposals ??

@jnastores: I’ve used Woo Worker Inneo (Cooper Dukes)for about a year now and find that he’s reasonably priced, good, and fast (I know, you usually only get 2 out of 3). In addition, if you’re interested in learning about WooCommerce, he’s very good about explaining where he’s changed things.

I do not have any affiliate connection with him; I’m only recommending him because I find his services excellent. Search for “Cooper” or “Inneo” at https://www.woothemes.com/affiliated-woo-workers/

P.S. When Max’s plugin was still active, I also found him to provide excellent support. I deliberately waited to recommend Cooper until after I saw that Jason didn’t want the job.
