[Plugin: WooCommerce – excelling eCommerce] Consistent URL Structure

Hello!

I’m attempting to implement a consistent, but somewhat sub-optimal (SEO wise) permalink structure for a Woocommerce store.

The category page works fine:
https://www.tipgrab.com/shop/fountains/

But the product page 404s:
https://www.tipgrab.com/shop/fountains/neopolitan-garden-fountain/

I’ve read on other threads that removing the “shop” part of the URL in the links above isn’t really possible. However, based on what I’ve read the structure above should work, but it isn’t.

In settings > pages, I had to set the product category and product tag slugs both to “shop” in order to get the urls to work. Is this what is causing the problem?

Is there any way to have a consistent, sensible URL structure with WordPress/woocommerce?
