  • I am soooooo glad that I am not the only one having this problem! I have been looking for an answer for days now. I’ve tried just about all “solutions” and nothing is friggin working…

I’ll up the ante and PAY somebody if we can get this corrected/solved!

    Thank you!

I did find a workaround…you guys brought me good luck. The above is true about numbering your products, HOWEVER you have to be in SORT MODE in order for it to take. You can’t just do a quick edit when viewing all products.

It’s a pain in the a$$ but as a last resort, choose to sort products and then number accordingly…if I can find an easier way, I’ll post. Please do the same…

I have a similar problem. I’m trying to bring up the items on sale at the very front of the catalog and the out of stock at the very end, and the rest in between.I’m stumped here… ??

    Hi there,

I have managed to re order the products in the shop page, but I have a sub page and the default for that page is to order the products in alphabetically order. How do I customise the order in my sub page!!

ellie4905 & Sufu5a: see the Plugins Author’s (mikejolley) post above. He makes it clear the way to do this from within Woocommerce and without additional plugins.

Mike, perhaps you guys can find a way to make this more obvious for users.
Thanks for an awesome plugin in Woocommerce.

I used Post Types Order plugin and it worked.

The built in ‘sort products’ is not working correctly for me.
I can drag n drop products to re-arrange, and they move around within my shop but do not reflect the order I move them to!

Cat options is set as instructed.

The problem I discovered is that when you have the “Posts Sort Order” plugin installed and activated the drag-and-drop resorting of products is honored on the front end, but if you change the default sort order from the drop-down menu to something else (i.e., “Sort by price: Low to High”), the page does not update. Only when you deactivate the plugin does the front end sort function work.

Has anyone reported this to Woocommerce because I think that the drag and drop sorting operation is the issue. One shouldn’t have to install another plugin for this to work, and clearly adding another plugin to “fix” this is breaking other functionality.

    Well that is a pain!!!!

the sorting is not working as expected!

on page load, default is not like what I ordered in the backend… if I change the view in front end THEN back to default… I get the correct order.

    Please advise

I end up using Advanced Post Types Order which works great for me, it allow custom sorting while keep the other front side dropdown sort options functional.. I can sort even the Grouped products.

After you sort, make sure you also click on the “Apply” button top left. This will sort products in “Shop”.
