[Plugin: Wiki lite] Questions about this plugin before I download

  • Howdy.

    This plugin looks like it’s something that I can really use on my website. I did want to ask about the user roles I have and if they will work with this plugin.

    Right now, my WordPress site only allows Admins to post articles/blogs. I want that to stay as is. However, I would like to use this wiki plugin to allow ALL registered users the ability to post their own wiki “about me” page.

    With this plugin, are Admins the only people allowed to make new wiki pages or can it be set up so that I can allow other member “roles”, like subscriber and contributor, the ability to make their own pages?

  • If you want anyone to edit and add wiki pages you should try the pro version. If you only want anyone who can edit and add blog posts to be able to edit and add wiki pages you can go with lite version.

    Thanks. I just might have to go with the pro version. But just to be sure, once I upgrade, all non-admins have the ability to add their own Wiki pages without having to have Admin rights?

    Also, if a non-admin makes a Wiki page that becomes abusive towards another member, is it possible to disable Wiki creations per user?

    Also, will this plugin work with wordpress styles/templates (i have a RocketTheme template) or does the Wiki pages look like all of the other Wiki’s and aren’t able to customize it all that much?

    Not right now, but that’s in the road map

    Wiki pages are highly customizable with themes
