[Plugin: Web Invoice – Invoicing and billing for WordPress] Option to upload pre-made invoice?

    I love the invoicing and payment feature this plugin offers. However, I manage my invoicing in Quickbooks. I am really looking for a nice way to email my clients when there is a new invoice on their account and a link so they can view the PDF and make a payment via PayPal. So, would it be an odd feature to have an option to upload an invoice PDF or use the invoicing itemized list?

    I envision it being very similar to the current itemized list area, but instead of putting individual items, you just put the invoice number, invoice total, and an upload button to browse for the pdf.

    Hats off to the wonderful plugin it is so far. Definitely something that will come to use soon. Thanks!

  • @phycel, thanks for your input. IMHO, import from Quickbooks will be a really nice feature. If it is not too much trouble can you please mail me (moha at mohanjith dot net) a sample PDF invoice (or itemized list)?

    It is technically possible to parse a PDF to extract the text. However I’m not a Quickbook user :(, your help is much appreciated.

    To import invoices from QuickBooks and to request clients to make the payments using PayPal, Infoncs, Inc., https://www.infonics.com offers a web based service called InLattice Document Portal https://www.inlattice.com

    It includes all the features you have listed. Up to 10 invoices per month is a FREE service.

    This is how InLattice will work to support your requirements:

    Set Up Process:

    – Register your company at https://www.inlattice.com/signup.php
    – You will be requested to install the QB Plug-In, when you sign in first time.
    – Update your Inlattice account with PayPal payment gateway information.
    – Using the customer list uploaded from QB, you can add any number of customer accounts to InLattice.

    Sending Invoices:

    – Create invoices in QuickBooks
    – Login to InLattice account and click on Import Invoices. All invoices created since the previous import, (for the customers set up in Inlattice) will be imported to the InLattice server.
    – Attach supporting documents, if any
    – Check all Invoices and click on Send Button.
    – When Customer looks at the invoice, the invoice status will be updated, so that you know customer has viewed the document. Similarly, when the invoice is paid, invoice status changes again.

    Receiving Invoices:

    – When invoices are sent, customer will receive an email notification, with a link to the invoice.
    – Customer can click on the invoice link to view the document, attachments, if any.
    – If customer wants a print out, clicking on Print button will generate a PDF document.
    – Customer can pay the invoice online (using credit card, paypal account), if you are using payment gateway like Paypal, Google Checkout or Authorize.net
    – Customer can login to InLattice account to view all the invoices received, resolve any discrepancies (using Notes feature)
    – If the customer is a QuickBooks user, InLattice set up can be changed, such that with a click of a button, customer can create the Bill (QB Enter Bill function) in their QuickBooks. InLattice also provides, online invoice approval process.
